Local Panhellenic
The Alumnae Panhellenic Association of Greater Kansas City is currently made up of 22 members of fraternities represented by voting delegates and non-voting alternates, one each from each member. Standing committees are as follows: Annual Meeting (now, Women of the Year Brunch), Board of Advisors, Fraternity Education, Grants and Loans, Program, Philanthropy and Outreach, and Sorority Information. The chair and assistant chair are determined by alphabetical rotation, for each active committee.
Regular meetings are held the first Tuesday of October thru December, and February thru April. The Annual open meeting is in May. The Women of the Year Brunch has grown into the prime fund raising event for Grants and Loans, in addition to individual contributions from each member fraternity.
Each year, approximately $6,000 in grants is distributed. Applications for the grants, up to $1,000 each, are received from a college junior, senior or graduate student enrolled full-time at a Kansas or Missouri college or university. She must be a Greater Kansas City area resident, have a 3.0 grade point average and be a member of a sorority.
