Local Service for Sight

Over the years, the primary beneficiary of our fundraising money and volunteer hours has been the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired (CCVI). The mission of CCVI is to prepare children with visual impairments, including those with multiple disabilities, to function at their highest potential in the sighted world.

In addition to our CCVI efforts, we raise money for Alphapointe, which provides work opportunities for visually impaired adults; Kansas Specialty Dog, which trains seeing eye dogs; and Audio Reader, which puts written material on tape.

Delta Gamma Foundation

The Delta Gamma Foundation provides resources for educational growth and philanthropic service for all members. The Delta Gamma Foundation was established in 1951 to provide a means for members of Delta Gamma to work together in achieving charitable, scientific, literary and educational objectives. Many non-profit organizations supporting those who are visually impaired or preservation of sight receive financial grants from the Delta Gamma Foundation.

Fraternity programs funded by the Delta Gamma Foundation:

  • The Leadership for Life program offers leadership development resources for collegians and alumnae.
  • The Leveraging Leaders program provides funding opportunities for members to develop personal leadership skills.
  • The Well Aware program promotes awareness and education on wellness issues.
  • The PRO program features Delta Gammas who share their professional expertise with collegians and alumnae.
  • Cable Connection offers career mentoring for all Delta Gammas.
  • Collegiate and Alumnae Development Consultants work with chapters on all aspects of membership and service.
  • Lamp of Knowledge gold charms are given to undergraduate members who earn their first 4.0 GPA.
